It was by complete happenstance that we ran across the Pompompurin Cafe one afternoon in Harajuku, but sometimes the most spontaneous decisions bring us the fluffiest omelets.
ポムポムプリンカフ!
Despite the fact that Halloween only just ended the day before, the PomPomPurin Cafe already offered Christmas treats. I would expect no less.
Yes, they even had PomPomPurin on the traditional noren.
My sister ordered veggie curry. She quite enjoyed her meal and wouldn’t stop raving about how fresh it tasted. Also, PomPomPurin’s face drawn on with chocolate was an interesting touch!
Each little veggie was cut to resemble flowers. These small details stand out and make it worth the trip.
My dish: a fluffy omurice complete with mushroom beret. I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about this since.
My dish also came with a pourable cheese sauce and souvenir mug. You can purchase the mug for an additional ¥300.
Initially my sister and I planned to order a dessert to share, but we had bitten off more than we could chew. I settled for a delicious kiwi soda instead.
One of the nice things about character cafes: gift shop. I even picked up a little souvenir to keep.
The Pompompurin Cafe in Harajuku took me completely by surprise. I was delighted in spending an afternoon in Pompom’s room and if given the chance, I would love to come back and sample some more treats (especially the desserts.) The wonderful thing I noticed around the cafe was the sense of camaraderie. Women of all ages visited the cafe - little girls out with the mothers, schoolgirls visiting after class, and even a few older friends just enjoying their drinks. There is something for everyone at this cafe.

Till next time,
