With only five days left until we fly off to Japan, I want to remember my top 5 Tokyo Disney Resort favorites.
1. The sights
Imagine being in the Mediterranean while looking off at a fairytale castle and the futuristic Sky Tree. Imagine being on the S.S. Columbia and gazing at the Pacific Ocean just on the other side. Imagine booking an overnight stay inside an actual theme park. There's something truly special about the families, the students, the cast members, and the tourists that visit TDR; experiencing Japanese culture through Disney simply cannot be found in any other Disney park. It's unlike anything else.
2. The parades
Whether or not you're a parade person, Tokyo Disneyland might completely change that for you. With dedicated and talented performers, extravagant floats, and catchy soundtracks, I don't think any other park could possibly upstage TDL's incredible parades. My personal favorite is Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights because it makes me teary-eyed and it's also completely mesmerizing.
3. The transportation
The easiest (and not to mention, the cutest) way to get around TDR is the Disney Resort Line. It's not your average monorail, with plush seats and everything Mickey shaped (from the windows to the handles!) One of the best things about the Disney Resort Line is their seasonal overlays. There's an entire train just dedicated to Duffy and friends! Once you sit down, you won't want to get up.
4. The merchandise
If you're anything like me (a sucker for good packaging) then TDR might be your dream and worst nightmare. Everything is so cute, so unique, and so practical. TDR has such a wide range of unusual merchandise - you can buy specialty underwear, toothbrushes, drink cozies, pop-up calendars, specialty pass holders, and just about anything you can think of! But if you're looking for typical merchandise, you can buy plush, keychains, and shirts that are anything but ordinary.
5. THE FOOD
I have never loved anything more than the food in Tokyo Disney Resort. I'm obsessed - the imaginative packaging and seasonal sweets, the flavorful popcorn and savory curry, and the themed drink dispensers and character mochi! I might be able to survive on the Sea Salt Monaka and Chandu tails alone. If you're craving it, Tokyo Disneyland has it and does it better than everyone else.
Tokyo Disney Resort may be halfway across the country, but it's worth it all. I'm looking forward to making new memories and discovering more that TDR has to offer.
